I have a little treat to let you know about.
If you're going to be in Brisbane from the 16th August,
did you know there is going to be a most gorgeous
Exhibition & aligned Workshops?
You can take your family along for free and get lost within
the delicious combination of art and wonder...
"elf", needle felted by mama, fibre artist and creator of
zuzu&me,
will be leaving his home next week for a 10-day Brisbane art exhibition not to be missed.
'Once upon a time - reinterpreting the fairy tale'
will bring together
30 local illustrators, fibre artists, painters
and sculptors.
Arzu says,
"I'm so thrilled and honoured to have been
selected to take part in this art exhibition and run two
workshops. sharing the gentle art of my felt work through workshops and
kits feels very natural to me, and it's so satisfying to see people
overcome their fears around being creative. my world of gnomes and
fairies feels very at home here in our beautiful Steiner-influenced
community. it's funny to think of all my little guys trekking down to
the big city for something as formal as an art exhibition"
The opening night is next Friday from 6pm in aid of the
Make-a-Wish Foundation and it's free to enter.
Enjoy an evening of
wine, art and fairy tale magic or let your creative juices flow in one
of their fabulous workshops - suitable for children as well as
adults.
among them is a chance to learn how to make beautiful
floating fleece fairies or a needle felted toadstool sculpture in a
terracotta dish with
zuzu&me ~ but places are limited. please contact Arzu on
zuzuandme (at) gmail (com). and for a sneak preview of some of the pieces she is exhibiting and that will be for sale, visit
zuzu&me's facebook page.
The event will run for ten days from the opening night
on Aug 16th and will be open from 10-4pm daily at the Art & Design
Precinct, 10 Bailey St, West End, Brisbane.
This link will take you to transport details.
