Rainbow fleece pencil roving crochet trivet

  On reading about crocheting with pencil roving a while back, 

I knew I'd love to have a go. 

So I made my own version, by rolling lengths of fleece.

Joining them together at the ends, purely with friction.

 The fibres held together enough to form a rope of pencil roving, 

without completely felting.

Next I used a large crochet hook to make a ring and then continued to single crochet around and around until I had used the full length of fleece rope.

  Creating a small rainbow mat.

 To be used as a trivet for the table.

A little bit of fun craft, for me.
